In the area around the Piscis Camping - Caravaning - Bungalow Park, there is a large
variety of places to visit of artistic, cultural or scenic interest.
Manzanares el Real Castle: Designated an Artistic-Historical Monument. One of the best conserved
castle-palaces in the entire Community of Madrid. 15th Century.
Regional Park of La Cuenca Alta del Manzanares: with 46,000 hectares of natural park,
including the Pedriza area, with its granitic hills, and of great ecological interest: golden eagle and Spanish
imperial eagle, grey heron, vulture, black stork, etc.
Monastery of Santa María del Paular, in Rascafría, nestling under the peaks of the Guadarrama moutains in
the Lozoya valley. Designated a National Monument. 15th-18th Century.
Montejo de la Sierra Beech Wood: situated in the Somosierra foothills, this is the most southerly beech
wood in Europe. There are lots of charming villages nearby.
Buitrago de Lozoya: don't miss a walk around its perfectly conserved Arab walls, the Piccaso Museum or
the church of Santa María.
Patones de Arriba: designated an Artistic-Historical Monument, this "black stone" village was never
conquered by the invadors of the Peninsula (Arabs, French, etc), and it even had its own king. Nearby
is the Reguerillo Cave with cave paintings.
If you have a whole day available, you can visit important tourist cities such as
Burgos, Segovia, Aranjuez, Toledo, El Escorial, Alcalá de Henares, etc.
